We strive to provide small, high quality, and great tasting cakes that are colorful, fun and will make someone feel truly special. Our mission is to bring joy to people's lives through celebration, whether it be a special occasion, to say I love you, or just because. As we've always said, it's the little things...

A Little History
Kendra's family is big on confectionary celebrations - they have a sweet tooth that can't be denied! There was always a reason to celebrate in her family and there was always a special cake to celebrate with! The family favorite, Mom's Classic Birthday Cake, was a consistent request by both Kendra and her dad for their birthdays. While that is still Kendra's favorite, all of our cakes are recipes she grew up with. Her cakes have a few added personal preferences and delightful gourmet twists and of course they are decorated to the nines!

While Kendra grew up with a love of baking, she never knew she'd turn it into a business. Having majored in business and entrepreneurship at The University of Arizona, she went on to work in many different areas of Financial Services, most recently as an Investment Consultant working in downtown Boston.

A few years ago on her birthday, Kendra went home after celebrating with friends and couldn't help but crave her mom's birthday cake! She was living on her own and didn't want a lot of leftovers sitting around, yet she wanted to indulge her sweet tooth on this special occasion. It was at that moment she knew if she could put a great-tasting and beautiful cake in protective yet attractive packaging, it would be the perfect gift to help a friend or loved one celebrate any occasion!

Not long after her revelation, she moved into a new apartment with a full-sized kitchen in Back Bay and the experimentation began. Over several months' time and many versions of cakes, icings, and fondant, Sweet Cheeks Cake Company was born.

While the self-taught pastry chef was progressing, Kendra needed to learn more so she spent a few of her spare hours working at The Catered Affair as well as going through classes at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. Sweet Cheeks Cake Company currently operates out of Nuestra Culinary Ventures in Jamaica Plain where she has gained valuable knowledge and experience.
